Daman and Diu survived as outposts of Portuguese overseas territory until 1961, when they became part of India along with Goa. When Goa attained statehood in 1987, Daman and Diu became a separate union territory, and in 2020 that union territory was combined with Dadra and Nagar Haveli union territory.

How to get there

The nearest airport to Devka Village is Diu Airport (DIU), which is approximately 6 kilometres away. From the airport, you can hire a taxi or use local transportation to reach Devka Village in around 20 minutes.

Daman does not have its own railway station. The nearest major railway station is Vapi Railway Station (station code: VAPI), which is well-connected to major cities in India. From Vapi, Devka Village is about 13 kilometres away, and you can reach there by hiring a taxi or taking a local bus.

Daman is well-connected by road, and you can reach Devka Village by bus, taxi, or private car. If you're travelling from major cities like Mumbai, it's a comfortable road journey. National Highway 48 connects Daman to other parts of Gujarat and Maharashtra.
