An extraordinarily enchanting view

Deolo Hill, located in Kalimpong, is the highest point in the town, sitting at an altitude of 1,704 meters (5,591 feet). It offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The hill is situated to the northeast of the town and features three water reservoirs, two of which are the main sources of drinking water for the town.

From Deolo Hill, you can enjoy an unparalleled vantage point to appreciate the natural beauty of the area. On clear days, one can see the snow-covered peaks of western Sikkim, including the majestic Kanchenjunga. The Teesta River winds its way through the mountainous valley, adding to the picturesque scenery.

A family-friendly picnic spot

At the summit of the hill, there is a park built for recreational purposes, featuring exotic flowers. The park is a popular picnic spot for tourists as well as locals. There are also some viewpoints for the mesmerizing view of the sunset and sunrise. At the highest point of Deolo Hill, there is a restaurant with accommodation managed by the government. Visitors can also see a Buddha Statue perched on a large stone, a small Shiva temple, and a large Hanuman temple with a large sculpture of the monkey god nearby.
