The rapids on the Teesta River are graded from II to IV, offering thrills for both beginners and experienced rafters. From Bagdogra, you can hire a taxi or take a shared vehicle to Kalimpong, which is about a 3-hour trip. The nearest major railway station to Kalimpong is New Jalpaiguri (NJP), located around 72 km away.

Kalimpong is well-connected by road to major cities in West Bengal, Sikkim, and other parts of Northeast India. The road trip is an enjoyable experience. You can hire a taxi or take a shared vehicle from Siliguri, which will take around 2-3 hours, depending on traffic conditions. The roads leading to Kalimpong are winding and narrow, with steep inclines and hairpin bends. Therefore, it's recommended to travel during daylight hours and take breaks as necessary to avoid fatigue.
