A symbol of devotion and legacy

Birla Temple, also known as Shri Ram Janaki Birla Temple, is a modern marvel of Hindu architecture located in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Built by the renowned Birla family after a dream in which the Lord appeared, the temple stands as a dedication to Lord Ram and Goddess Sita. With its beautiful marble work, intricate carvings, and intriguing chariot-shaped design, the temple exudes a perfect blend of tradition and contemporary style. The devotees can explore smaller temples devoted to various deities within its complex, seek solace in the meditation hall, and marvel at the bewitching garden.

Architectural genius of a divine abode

Spread over an area of around 2.5 acres, the main temple houses the idols of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita along with Lord Hanuman. The smaller shrines are dedicated to the other gods and goddesses. The temple is made of white marble and has a meditation hall and a garden. It features intricate carvings and sculptures and is made in a style that blends classical and modern architectural elements. The temple is designed in the shape of a chariot and the main entrance of the temple is in the form of a large arch with intricate carvings and sculptures of Hindu deities. It is supported by pillars which have lotus carved on them.

The garden of the temple is designed in an eco-friendly manner and is full of native flowers and plants. Water conservation and other such sustainable practices are followed here. The lighting system of the temple is made in a way that highlights the intricate carvings and sculptures on the temple's facade.

Revered treasures

According to a popular belief, the idea to build a temple in Ayodhya came to the late industrialist Shri Jugal Kishore Birla in a dream, where Lord Ram and Goddess Sita appeared to him and urged him to build a temple dedicated to them in Ayodhya.
