Ram Bagh is home to incredible stories that bring Agra's history alive. One of the earliest Mughal gardens, originally called Aram Bagh and constructed by Babur himself as a gift to Zahra; later changed during Maratha occupation of Agra between 1775-1803 AD when its name became Ram Bagh.
Ram Bagh was used as an interim resting place for Emperor Babur, founder of the Mughal Dynasty. When he passed away in 1530, his mortal remains were brought here before they were transferred to Kabul's Bagh-i-Babur for final burial.
