Nagpur, a beautiful Maharashtrian city steeped in spirituality, culture, and history, offers a potpour of natural wonders, heritage, and cultural exploration. From tranquil lakes to ancient forts, each day in Orange City will be eventful and fun-filled. Day 1

Start day 1 of the Nagpur sojourn with a plunge into its remarkable cultural heritage. So, the first stop will be the sacred Buddhist monument, Deekshabhoomi, where you will see the largest stupa erected in the world, the Dhamma Chakra Stupa. It is where Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar converted to Buddhism and is a prevalent spot of Buddhist pilgrimage. Devotees usually visit the place on 14th October, the day of conversion, or during the Mass Conversion Ceremony Day (also called the Dhamma Chakra Pravartan Din).

Next, you will tour the Central Museum or the Ajab Bangla, which gives an insight into the city’s historical treasures. Established in 1863, Central Museum is India and Maharashtra’s oldest museum that houses vital artifacts. As the day progresses, you will head to a beautiful architectural marvel from the 12th century, Ambagarh Fort, which belonged to the Gondwana Kings but was acquired by Raja Raghuji Bonsle. It was a quintessential strategic point controlled by Indian freedom fighters and is associated with India’s freedom struggle. You can stop by any popular restaurant to indulge in local delights like Varhadi Aloo Bonda and Saoji Chicken. End the day with a visit to the Shri Poddareshwar Ram Mandir. The temple is dedicated to Lord Ram and Lord Shiva, and Hindus from around the country visit it.

Start your day by embarking on the journey across Nagpur’s natural wonders. The first on the list should mandatorily be The Pench Tiger Reserve, which guarantees an insight into the city’s wildlife. Next, you can travel to Gorewada Lake to experience its tranquil ambiance. To satiate your adventurous side, you can stop at Khindsi Lake, where you can partake in activities like paddle boating and jet skiing. After one adrenaline-spiking experience, head to the next at the Khekranala Reservoir, a famous picnic spot that offers tremendous trekking and hiking opportunities at the low hillocks. The last spot for the day is the Seminary Hill. You can trek to the hilltop and visit the famous Shri Hanuman Temple. Enjoy the sunset there before you descend.

This day takes you deeper into Nagpur’s culinary delights and spiritual sites. Start your day with a visit to the Sitabuldi Fort, the place of the Sitabuldi Battle in 1817, and explore the markets nearby. You will find lip-smacking delicacies like Kachoris and Samosas here, which are a must-try. There is plenty to shop for here, from accessories and footwear to clothing. Next, head to the Ramtek Temple, located atop the hills away from the city’s hustle and bustle. This temple is a source of rich mythology, and legends say that Lord Rama rested in this temple before he left to conquer Lanka. The next stop will be the Adasa Temple. Dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the temple is located around 35 km from the city and can be reached via a small trek of approximately 100 meters or by taking a flight of 40-50 stairs. After a hearty dinner, you can end your day with Nagpur’s famous Nagpur Orange Burfi and Jalebi.
