  • Visit the most mythological marvels and spiritually iconic sites

  • Highlights

Ganga Ghat, Chandi Devi Temple, Sati Kund, Vishnu Ghat, Har Ki Pauri

Start your journey in Haridwar with a visit to the most iconic place in the city, the Ganga Ghat. It is regarded as the holiest place in the world. At this ghat, you will experience devotion and life together. People take a holy dip in the River Ganges. You will see pilgrims participating in rituals and ceremonies and experience the divine energy in the air around them. Next, travel to Chandi Devi Temple, nestled on the Neel Parvat Hill at the Eastern summit of the Sivalik Hills, the Himalayas’ southernmost mountain range. This Hindu temple was built in 1929 and is dedicated to Goddess Chandi Devi. You can get to the temple by taking a cable car ride to enjoy the panoramic views of the river Ganges and the city.

Next, you will travel to Sati Kund and Vishnu Ghat, both offering a glimpse into Haridwar's ancient legends. Sati Kund is the sacrificial fire or the Yagna Kund wherein the daughter of Daksh, Sati, self-immolated herself because of her father’s non-acceptance of her husband. You will find its mention in Mahabharata. Vishnu Ghat is a tranquil ghat in the city, located close to the Har Ki Pauri. It is relatively less crowded as only Vaishnavites visit this ghat dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Since it is one of the cleanest ghats, you can enjoy a dip in the holy Ganga here and absolve your sins. Enjoy an evening grand aarti at Har Ki Pauri, and end your day with a hearty dinner in one of the restaurants in Har Ki Pauri, like Chotiwala or Frontier Punjabi Dhaba.
