Before you begin your Hampi expedition fill up with an energising breakfast of freshly steamed Idlis and crispy Dosas, with a medley of chutneys and sambar - a perfect introduction to Hampi's gastronomic landscape. Now begin by going to the most prominent location in Hampi – the legendary Virupaksha Temple, an architectural marvel dedicated to Lord Shiva. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is more than just stone and sculpture - it's a living narrative where every architectural detail harkens back to the majestic Vijayanagara Empire.

After experiencing one of the most important temples of India, saunter down to Hampi Bazaar. This market was once a lively tableau of culture, where the legacy of trade and craftsmanship endured. Adjacent to the bazaar is the Monolithic Bull, an imposing sculpture carved out of a single stone. This artistic marvel is a symbol of Nandi, the divine bull and mount of Lord Shiva.  After a filling lunch of Dosas and Bisi Bele Baths, head to the Vitthala Temple Complex and explore its wonders. It is home to the famous Musical Pillars that produce sublime melodies and the Stone Chariot that appears on the 50-rupee currency note. Next, venture towards the Zenana Enclosure where you will also discover a cluster of other marvellous attractions within. Step first into the Queen’s Bath, an extraordinary architectural wonder where the royal queens bathed. You can head over to the Elephant Stables next, where the magnificent royal elephants of the Vijayanagara Empire were once housed! Complete your exploration of the enclosure, with the mystical Lotus Temple, designed like an extravagant lotus.

Before heading to your next destination, take a tea break at one of the tea stalls along the way and try the delicious Masala Chai. After a relaxing break, journey to the Hemakuta Hill Temple Complex where numerous Hindu temples, shrines, and other monuments await you. These structures are decorated with intricate carvings and stunning sculptures that exude spiritual grandeur as well as artistic excellence.

As the day comes to an end, find your way to the Coracle Crossings where you can sit in coracles – basket boats made of bamboo. Take a unique boat ride on the Tungabhadra River, capturing the ancient city's landscapes under the golden hues of the sunset.

This iconic temple features the statue of Lord Vishnu seated in a cross-legged Yoga posture atop the coils of the mighty seven-headed serpent, Adishesha. A few kilometres away, the Hazara Rama Temple which translates to the Temple of a Thousand Ramas, beckons you with its breathtaking architecture.

After a fun wildlife experience, journey to the ancient village of Anegundi which is older than Hampi. Its natural beauty, featuring valleys, rivers, rocks, and forests, is a testament to the enchanting allure of this semi-rural region. Then head to the nearby Kamalapura village and pay a visit to the Archaeological Museum as it beckons you to embark on a fascinating journey through time. The museum showcases a splendid collection of sculptures recovered from the Hampi ruins. Lord Shiva takes centre stage, with incarnations like Lord Veerabhadra, Lord Bhairava, and Lord Bhikshatana-murthi standing proudly.

Finally, return to the city and conclude your day by exploring the local markets for unique handicrafts, exquisite jewellery pieces, traditional clothing items, and charming souvenirs.
