Kadri Manjunatha Temple, Surathkal beach
With culinary preparations being inspired by South Indian, Konkani and coastal influences, your interaction with the meals in the city is bound to be zesty and adventurous. After a delightful breakfast made with the choicest spices, head out to dip your feet in the cool water of Panambur beach. Unwind and relax at the sunny beach or stroll along the shoreline while enjoying the beach activities.
Dust off the sand and prepare to head towards Kadri Manjunatha Temple, believed to date back to the 11th century AD. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple houses traditional statues of Lord Manjunatha. Walking towards the temple, you can spot several caves flanking the temple and inscriptions on them.
Next, head to Nisargadhama which is a multipurpose tourist attraction. Known for its eco-education projects, inside you will find a tropical forest and the popular Pilikula Lake. Sprawling across a wide area of 370 acres, the destination is home to several wildlife species and migratory birds. Some prominent features of the park also include a water amusement park, a golf course, boating and a tourist cottage.
After this, head to Sultan Battery, a watchtower that was crafted by Tipu Sultan. Made with black stone, the robust tower stands above several basement chambers which used to serve as a storehouse for gunpowder and weapons.
As evening begins to set in, head towards Surathkal beach, a serene view of untouched natural charm set against a backdrop of the mighty Arabian Sea. The endless white sandy beach is perfect for an evening stroll, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
