A divine pilgrimage

Thirunallar, a divine hamlet located in Karaikal district of Puducherry UT, is renowned as a significant Hindu pilgrimage site. It's primarily known for the ancient Sri Dharbaranyeswara Swamy Temple, dedicated to Lord Shani (Saturn). The temple, an abode of spirituality and sanctity, is considered one of the oldest surviving temples through the Yugas (ages). The principal deity, a Suyambu Moorthy, attracts devotees seeking solace and blessings.

Cultural extravaganza

Thirunallar is not just a pilgrimage destination; it's a hub of culture and arts. The village is associated with traditional dance and music, notably the Unmaththa Dance, which is performed during the annual Brahmotsavam festival. The Tanjore paintings within the Maha Mandapam at Thirunallar Temple are a visual delight for art enthusiasts. Additionally, the village hosts the Bharatha Naatiyam Festival during Mahasivarathiri and Arudhra Dharshan, showcasing the rich cultural heritage.
