The Sita Mata Wildlife Sanctuary abounds with a myriad of wild creatures, from those of the large mammals to the bright birds and the skittish reptiles. Nature lovers find the national park a haven for its native animals including among others, leopards, hyenas, nilgai and deer who explore the sanctuary forests and grasslands to look for food and shelter. Known for housing a solitary population of Large Brown Flying Squirrels, the Sanctuary is the only teak forest left in Rajasthan State. Birdwatchers will be no less happy at the sight of both resident and migratory bird species, including peacocks, parakeets, owls, and eagles, which live in the sanctuary's various habitats, not to mention it serves as a birding hotspot.
