The lost treasures and the last Pathan guardian
Taragarh Fort in Bundi, Rajasthan is often referred to as "Star Fort", due to its picturesque setting on top of a steep hill and the mysterious legend surrounding its hidden treasure room housing riches belonging to long-deceased rulers. Access to this immense treasure hoard was only granted through its guardians, the Afghan warriors of Pathan tribe. For generations they kept its location a closely guarded secret. Tragically, its location was lost with the last Pathan killed during World War II who were carrying its secrets into their graves. Maharao Bahadur Singh undertook an extensive hunt after serving against Japan in Burma during WWII but eventually conceded defeat and left behind an ancient fort in Agra that now houses this priceless treasure worth millions.
