Guru Nanak Dev received a job recommendation from his brother-in-law Jairam at Nawab Daulat Khaan's Provision shop. The Nawab Store was located at this hallowed location, and Guru Sahib used to work there. This place still has the stones that Guru Sahib used as weights.
The location where Guru Nanak was employed as the guardian of Nawab Daulat Khan's food stores, south of the medieval stronghold resembling a serai, is marked. The structure is made up of a hall with a square sanctum in the center. A square room with a lotus dome crowned by a gold-plated finial and a wide arched coping sits above the sanctum. In a glass cabinet are thirteen polished stones in various sizes that are said to represent the weights that Guru Nanak used.
Central to the Gurdwara's significance is the historic Hatt tree, under which Guru Nanak Dev Ji is said to have sought shade. This tree serves as a symbol of the Guru's enlightenment and his timeless message of compassion, equality, and devotion to the divine.
