A final vow and enduring legacy
Despite a fatal wound to his neck, Baba Deep Singh Ji was determined to fulfil a final vow – to breathe his last within the sacred precincts of the Golden Temple. With unwavering determination, he continued fighting his way back to Amritsar, finally succumbing near the holy pool. This remarkable display of courage and devotion inspired Sardar Jassa Singh Ramgarhia to construct a memorial. Later, in the 1920s, the Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee transformed this memorial into the majestic Gurudwara that stands today.

The Gurudwara itself is a magnificent structure, reflecting the grandeur of Baba Deep Singh Ji's sacrifice. Crafted from exquisite marble and granite, it boasts a rectangular hall and an intricately designed main entrance. A dazzling golden leaf adorns the dome, adding to the opulence of the structure.
