Architecture that will astound you
Rebuilt in 1921 under the visionary guidance of Guru Harsai Mal Kapoor, a descendant of the esteemed lineage of Prithi Chand and Guru Ram Das, Durgiana Temple is an epitome of architectural brilliance.
Just look at the majestic domes crowning the main temple! Adorned with gleaming gold carvings, the temple casts a radiant glow that beckons worshippers from afar. Amidst the tranquil waters of a sacred lake (sarovar), just like the Golden Temple, Durgiana stands as a beacon of light. Spanning 160 metres by 130 metres, the serene expanse of the lake forms a peaceful backdrop. And there is a bridge that will provide you with access to the temple's sanctum.
As you approach the entrance, you are greeted by the magnificent Darshni Deori, a monumental silver door standing 12x12 feet. Each door within the temple is a testament to this sacred space's grandeur.
Stepping into the central sanctum, the Garbh Grah, one is enveloped by an aura of sublime divinity. Here, amidst the glorious surroundings, stand the revered idols of Shri Lakshmi-Narayan in a dignified standing posture. Flanking them are the divine manifestations of Shri Ram Darbar and the enchanting idols of Shri Radha-Krishna along with Shri Giriraj Maharaj. Together, they form a captivating tableau of divine grace and beauty.
