A spiritual haven steeped in legends

If you have ever heard of the popular ancient Indian epic Ramayana, you would know the significance of Lord Hanuman. For the uninitiated, Lord Hanuman is the God of strength, wisdom and devotion. He was key to Lord Rama’s valiant victory over Ravana. According to one of the legends, Anjana Devi gave birth to the revered Lord Hanuman within a cave atop the sacred hills of Anjaneri. Which is now popularly known as Anjaneri Hills. Located 20 km away from Nashik towards Triambakeshwar road, apart from its historical and religious significance, these hills have also become a popular hiking destination. Towering 4264 feet above sea level, be prepared to be greeted by caves, temples, waterfalls and lakes as you trek all the way up to the top.

A sacred rendezvous with Mother Nature

Put on those hiking shoes and get ready to embark on a journey that promises to be both invigorating and rewarding. The trek is a 4km hike which on an average can be covered in 5-6hrs. While the ascent might test your stamina, the vistas that unfold before your eyes will act as a cure to those aching muscles. Behold vast expanses of green meadows carpeted in colourful blooms. One can spot the rare Cape York Lily and many other wildflowers like Sonki scattered through the valley. Along the way, discover hidden spiritual gems, such as the very cave where Lord Hanuman was cared for as a child featuring ancient inscriptions that whisper stories from nearly a millennium ago. Pay your respects at the Anjana Mata Temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman’s Mother. As you climb up you will discover a serene pond that is said to have taken the shape of a foot. Legend claims that the shape was set by the left foot of Lord Hanuman himself. The shape will be more legible once you reach a certain height. Do visit the Hanuman temple on the top of the hill. Where Hanuman is uniquely represented as a child unlike other temples to his name.
