A Glimpse Inside the Temple
Stepping into the sanctum sanctorum of the Siddhivinayak Temple is akin to entering a realm of divine tranquillity and spiritual resonance. The main deity, Lord Ganesha, is enshrined in the inner sanctum, adorned with colourful flowers, garlands, and offerings from devotees. The divine idol of Shree Siddhivinayak was meticulously carved from a single black stone, standing at a height of 2 feet 6 inches and a width of 2 feet, with the trunk gracefully positioned on the right side—an uncommon depiction of Lord Ganesh. Adorned with symbolic attributes, the upper right and left hands hold a lotus and an axe respectively, while the lower right and left hands clutch a rosary (japmala) and a bowl full of "Modak" respectively, symbolizing auspiciousness and divine blessings. A serpent, resembling a sacred thread, coils from the left shoulder to the right side of the belly, adding to the mystical allure of the idol.
At the deity's forehead lies a divine eye, reminiscent of the third eye of Lord Shiva, radiating divine wisdom and insight. Flanking the idol of Lord Ganesh are the goddesses Riddhi and Siddhi, symbolizing prosperity and success, peeking out from behind the deity. Together with Lord Ganesh, these goddesses bestow sanctity, wealth, and prosperity upon devotees, earning the temple its revered name—Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple.
