The Hanging Gardens are a refuge for tired souls, offering a peaceful shelter amidst the bustle of the city or solitude in the middle of the wilderness.

The Hanging Gardens were commissioned in the early 20th century to enhance the city’s scenery and offer its citizens a tranquil haven. The gardens have continued to be a popular destination for both locals and visitors over the years, offering a peaceful haven amidst the bustle of the city. A sky sanctuary

With each step, as you ascend the winding pathways leading to the terraced Hanging Gardens, a sense of anticipation grows. The gardens bear the name of the well-known social reformer and barrister, Pherozeshah Mehta, who was instrumental in the growth of Mumbai. The Hanging Gardens’ breathtaking panoramic views of the Arabian Sea and Mumbai’s skyline are one of its main attractions. In honour of the 'Lion of Bombay'

The Hanging Gardens were designed and laid out in 1881 by Ulhas Ghapokar over Bombay’s main reservoir, some say to cover the water from the potentially contaminating activity of the nearby Towers of Silence. When seen from the air, the walkway inside the park (Hanging Gardens Path), spells out the letters PMG (Pherozeshah Mehta Gardens) in cursive. The garden was primarily dedicated to Pherozeshah Mehta, a prominent Parsi political leader, activist, and lawyer, whose contributions to the city led to him being named the 'Lion of Bombay.'
