Incredible tales echo throughout time
Jahangir Mahal's history echoes with extraordinary tales that continue to intrigue visitors today. According to legend, Jahangir, Akbar's son betrayed him and fled Agra for Allahabad (modern-day Prayagraj), where Abul Fazal, one of Akbar's trusted ministers pursued Jahangir relentlessly with the intent of killing him. Their path eventually took them through Gwalior where local king Veer Singh Bundela took matters into his own hands and intercepted Abul Fazal before reaching Allahabad. They had their fateful encounter at Antri where Abul Fazal had his head severed from his body before reaching Allahabad.
