Enter the stupa
The Shanti Stupa is built as a two-level structure, accessible by flights of stairs wreathed around it. At the base, you will find priceless Buddha relics and a photograph of the Dalai Lama — making the stupa a truly sacred place for Buddhists.
Ascending the first flight of stairs will take you to level one, where you will find a Dharmachakra, reminiscent of the white strip on the Indian national flag. Flanked by two graceful deer, this emblematic wheel features a radiant image of Lord Buddha, resplendent in golden hues, seated atop a platform.
Going up to the second level will unfold a vivid tableau of the Buddha's life journey. From his birth to the triumphant victory over the forces of darkness in meditation, and ultimately, to the passage into nirvana, each momentous event is intricately depicted in vibrant hues. Amidst this collection of divine relics, images of a meditating Buddha impart a sense of serenity, beckoning pilgrims to immerse in the blessings of the Enlightened One.
