Another legend speaks of a mythical bird called 'Chillikomban' whose wings created the seven-step waterfall, each step representing a note in the musical scale. There are other legends surrounding Thommachan, the hometown hero the waterfall is named after, add to the mystery. According to other local folklore, Thommachan happened upon the waterfall by accident while looking for his missing cattle. This encounter would go down in the annals of local legend.
