The name "Anayirankal "is derived from "Aana," meaning elephant, and "irangal," meaning descend—hence evoking images of elephants quenching their thirst here. Fascinatingly, you can observe elephants enjoying the refreshing water of the crystal-clear lake; the sight of them playing is sure to be a delight for all ages. You may even spot bisons and wild boars around the area!

Adjacent to the dam, a pristine lake and sprawling tea plantations enhance the reservoir's beauty like a jade-green carpet, captivating its visitors.
