A saint's journey
The story of Baba Hyder Reshi, also known as Baba Hardi Rishi, Resh Mir Sahib, and Reshi Maloo, is one of sacrifice and enlightenment. Born into humble household in 1504, Baba Hyder Reshi's journey led him from the court of a district ruler to a life dedicated to serving humanity. Renouncing all worldly possessions, he embraced a life of humility and compassion, becoming a beacon of spiritual guidance for generations to come.
Messenger of non-violence
Throughout the year, pilgrims and tourists alike flock to the Shrine, which houses the tomb of Baba Hyder Reshi and his 21 disciples, to pay homage to the saint and seek his blessings. During the annual death anniversary of Baba Hyder Reshi, devotees observe a week-long tradition of abstaining from meat, a gesture of reverence and respect for the saint's teachings of compassion and non-violence. It is said that he never ate meat in his life.
