Discover a masterpiece in the lap of Dwarka

Sudarshan Setu stretching gracefully over the waters of the Arabian Sea in Dwarka is India's longest cable-stayed bridge that connects the Okha mainland to Beyt Dwarka island. It is a symbol of modern engineering within the ancient charm of the city. From afar, the bridge casts a unique silhouette against the backdrop of the sea. As you venture onto the bridge, you'll find yourself transported to a realm where time stands still. The gentle sea breeze with the rhythmic sound of waves lapping against the bridge's pillars is like a soothing melody.

Beauty and innovation go hand in hand

It is a sight to behold, as you cross the bridge to the sacred island of Beyt Dwarka, home to revered shrines and temples. The vistas of the Arabian Sea evoke a sense of awe and wonder, while the coastal landscape dotted with swaying palms and golden sands invites you to admire the beauty of nature. The bridge enables pilgrimage by offering a seamless passage to the revered Dwarkadhish Temple in Dwarka.

A bridge to the future

Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated the construction of the Sudarshan Setu in October 2017 to bridge the gap between old and new Dwarka. It has been built at a cost of ₹9.78 billion, featuring a footpath adorned with verses from the Bhagavad Gita and images of Lord Krishna on both sides, adding a spiritual dimension to its design.

As you enter the Sudarshan Setu adorned with solar panels, you will observe human innovation, engineering prowess and artistic brilliance of the intricate design, with steel pylons and cables arranged in a fan-like pattern. This engineering marvel not only amazes but also exemplifies the boundless possibilities of human creativity and expertise. Once accessible only by boat, this direct connection between Okha and Beyt Dwarka promises to revolutionise travel, drastically reducing journey times.
