A deeply rooted cultural phenomenon
Jodhpur RIFF is not just another music festival. As you will find, it is a cultural phenomenon deeply rooted in the rich heritage of Rajasthan. This extraordinary festival coincides with "Sharad Purnima," the night of the brightest full moon in northern India. It was born out of a passion for preserving and celebrating folk and indigenous music, making it accessible to a global audience.
Global acclaim as ‘People’s Platform for Creativity’
The festival has gained international acclaim and is endorsed by UNESCO as a ‘Peoples' Platform for Creativity and Sustainable Development.’ HH Gaj Singh of Marwar-Jodhpur serves as the Chief Patron, and iconic rock legend Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones is the International Patron. Jodhpur RIFF brings together artists, musicians, and enthusiasts from across the globe to share in the joy of music and culture.
India's premier international roots music festival
Jodhpur RIFF is steeped in history and cultural significance. Its origins date back to 2007, and since then, it has evolved into ‘India's premier international roots music festival.’ Annually, it features over 350 talented musicians, both young and legendary, from Rajasthan, India, and around the world. The festival is hosted within the magnificent fifteenth-century Mehrangarh Fort, which has earned the title of ‘Asia's Best Fortress’ by Time Magazine.
