Narali Purnima, celebrated primarily along the coastal Maharashtra and Konkani regions, is an important event in Silvassa; people offer coconuts, rice and flowers to Varun - the Hindu god of ocean and waters on this day; tree planting activities also occur on this special occasion to demonstrate Silvassa's deep reverence for nature.

January marks the Kite Festival or Makar Sankranti and sees participants from across India converging to fill the sky with beautiful kites from across their nation, creating a vibrant display. The Tarpa Dance Festival, an important tribal event in Silvassa, allows audiences to witness first-hand how much unity and harmony exists among its various tribal communities. Participants encircle a wind instrument player known as a Tarpakar to dance rhythmic music under moonlit skies while enjoying other activities such as swimming competitions, Rangoli/Tattoo-making contests, boat racing competitions etc.
