Let's take a stroll

As you step through the twin stone arches framing the entrance of Hirwa Van Garden, you're immediately enveloped in a world of verdant wonder. The name "Hirwa," meaning "green" in the local language, perfectly captures the essence of this 15-acre paradise. Meandering paths guide you through meticulously manicured lawns adorned with vibrant flowerbeds, their fragrances perfuming the air. The gentle murmur of cascading waterfalls beckons you deeper into the garden, inviting moments of quiet contemplation. Families spread picnic mats on lush grass, their laughter mingling with the excited squeals of children chasing butterflies or enjoying the dedicated play area.

As you wander, you'll discover a tapestry of blooms - fiery marigolds, delicate petunias, and regal roses - each telling its own story and begging to be captured by camera or memory. The garden's crowning jewel, a musical fountain, comes to life as day turns to dusk, its illuminated waters dancing in rhythm with popular melodies. This harmonious blend of nature and artistry creates a tranquil haven, offering a perfect escape from the demands of daily life and embodying the creators' vision of a space where natural beauty and human creativity intertwine seamlessly.

Akshardham temple

A short drive from Ahmedabad (30 kms) lies Akshardham temple, an awe-inspiring structure intricately carved from 6000 tonnes of pink sandstone, stands majestically amidst sprawling gardens within a 23-acre expanse in Gandhinagar district. Remarkably, this architectural marvel adheres strictly to the principles of Vastu Shastra, eschewing the use of steel in its construction. Rising to a height of 108 feet, with dimensions of 240 feet in length and 131 feet in width, Akshardham is a modern testament to Hinduism. At its heart lies a monumental sanctum housing a seven-foot-high idol of Lord Swaminarayan, adorned with gold leaf. The complex itself rests on seven sculpted pillars, supported by 210 single-piece stone beams, adorned with 57 window grills, M domes, and eight ornate zarokhas. The sanctum sanctorum encapsulates a 1.2-tonne gold-plated idol of Lord Swaminarayan, the revered founder of the eponymous sect. This divine representation depicts Lord Swaminarayan in a seated posture, his right hand raised in the abhay mudra. Flanking him are his disciples, Swami Gunatitanand on the right and Swami Gopalanand Swami on the left, both integral figures in the sect. Swami Gunatitanand is revered as Swaminarayan's Akshardham, symbolizing the eternal abode.
