Black beauty

Considered one of the most photographed beaches in Daman, Devka Beach, situated in Nani Daman (approximately 13 kilometres from Diu town), boasts a unique feature: its black sand. Unlike the typical golden shores, Devka has a rocky and muddy shoreline, with its dark sands lending an intriguing allure. The shoreline formation is a result of the ceaseless dance of waves against the ancient rocks, sculpting a picturesque landscape.

Beyond the tide

When the tide recedes, visitors can venture deeper into the Arabian Sea, collecting shells and conch as mementos. The beach offers a refreshing swim, and its rugged beauty appeals to photographers seeking unconventional frames.

The namo path to delight

Devka Promenade and Sea Front, affectionately known as the Namo Path, is a 5.45-kilometer pathway, thoughtfully designed for tourists. Featuring over 200 benches, smart lighting, lush gardens, and delightful food stalls, the pathway’s mesmerising illumination as dusk falls, evokes a starry necklace—a sight to behold.

Amuse the kids

If you seek more adventure, a nearby amusement park awaits. Walk its beautiful pathways, marvel at multicoloured musical fountains, savour local street food, and perhaps even hop on a pony for a ride to the beach.

Adjacent to the Arabian Sea Coast, the Promenade and Sea Front extends to the neighbouring tourist centres of Devka and the Chhapli Sheri area, as well as the Samudra Narayan Jetty. Sustainable tourism ethos underpins this visionary project, inviting travellers to immerse themselves in its timeless splendour.

Devka Beach, with its untamed allure and historical echoes, invites us to slow down and savour life’s simple pleasures.
