Nestled in the heart of Chhattisgarh, the city of Raipur is not only a bustling urban center but also a treasure trove of religious and heritage wonders. With a rich cultural tapestry, the city beckons travelers on a spiritual odyssey, offering a profound glimpse into its history and devotion.

Kankali talab

Constructed by the revered sages belonging to the Dashnai Sanyasi sect, Kankali Talab has a fascinating origin. Long time ago, these sages envisioned a divine deity, inspiring them to construct a temple along with an adjacent water tank, known as a kund, as an expression of their profound devotion. At the center of the kund, a sacred Shiva shrine is situated. The primary Kankali Temple finds its abode beneath the protective shade of a majestic banyan tree.

Dudhadhari Temple

Dating back to the 17th century, the Dudhadhari Temple stands as Raipur's oldest, enchanting devotees of Lord Rama with its antique mysticism. As a significant structure in the Vaishnav religion, it boasts original sculptures from the Ramayana period, making it a rare and unparalleled gem. Legend has it that Swami Balbhaddra Das, a devout Hanuman follower, inspired the temple's name due to his unique diet of only milk ("Dudh-Ahari"). Built by King Jait Singh of the Kachuri dynasty (1603-1614 AD), the external walls feature charming sculptures related to Lord Rama, making this ancient temple a captivating destination for pilgrims and art enthusiasts alike.
