Inside the temple
The Jagannath Temple is known for its impressive Kalinga architecture and its similarity to the famous Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha. As you approach the main gate, known as Singhadwara, you'll be greeted by two magnificent stone lion structures that create a grand entrance facing east. You will also discover seven temples dedicated to the deities Mahaprabhu, Jagannath, Balabhadra, Subhadra, Shiva, Ganesha, Hanuman, Devi and Navagraha.
Upon entering the inner sanctum, you will see the bejewelled platform of the deities Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra, beautifully positioned to inspire devotion and reverence. The temple's distinctive red stone construction stands out amidst its serene surroundings, captivating the hearts of all who behold it. The temple is enclosed by walls that are three metres high and adorned with sculptures depicting scenes from Krishna Leela and Puranas. It also has two gated openings that add to its allure.
